Well, it took me like 8 months but I finally managed to fight my adhd
enough to submit to one of these (of course I still procrastinated
enough that it's a very barebones mess, but I take what I can get).

Splicce is a jrpg battle system inspired by musical delay & tape
looping where you fight alongside your previous selves.

Requirements: Godot
Type Size Filename
application/zip 3.5KiB Splicce.zip

It's a pretty interesting concept, would be neat to see it as a more fleshed out
game. A lose condition other than getting stuck in an endless loop would be
fantastic ;D

I have to say, although the stock Godot UI makes the game look a bit harsh, with
a slightly sleeker UI (or maybe an ASCII version!), this seems like exactly the
sort of text based game I'd love.

Oh, I just noticed! You've not provided a license for your game. Please add a
suitable open source license (my personal favourite is AGPL3!).

Now this game had a really interesting concept! Had you not described
it in the e-mail, it would probably have taken me a while to grasp it
just by playing the game, but that’s also what the e-mail is for. :-)

I can’t say the gameplay has been very engaging for me. I didn’t feel
like carefully planning ahead to defeat my opponents, which may just
have been a mood of mine, but the game didn't really motivate me to
keep playing, either. The interface only showed me basic instructions
and data, but nothing else to spice up the experience, to make it feel
like I was doing more than getting calculations to match up.

Altogether, it felt like a minimal demo of one particular mechanism.
But the mechanism was a very good take on the theme, and the demo was
fully functional. Exploring was fun while it lasted!
